This project included an 11,825 sq. ft. three-storey addition to accommodate 6 new classrooms, as well as a one-storey cafeteria addition.

Renovations to the existing school included a new hospitality classroom c/w new food service equipment, a new dust collector system and provisions for a new laundry room. The majority of work was completed while the existing building remained occupied.

Both additions were constructed of steel superstructures with exterior masonry walls, clad in a combination of brick, stone, metal wall panels and a colourful array of aluminum composite panels. Interior specialties included new architectural woodwork, acoustic panels, visual displays, window coverings, lockers and terrazzo flooring.

Special provisions were made during constriction to include construction of a temporary exit staircase for fire egress.

GEN-PRO was selected through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process by Humber College to complete extensive demolition of existing classrooms and perform interior renovations to Buildings J, N and L to accommodate the School of Applied Technology, comprised of the departments of Interior and Industrial design, Architectural Technology, Robotics and Electronics.

The basement and 1st floor of N Building totaling 52,000 Square feet was converted into the new Interior & Industrial design and Architectural Technology departments. The basement level was converted into Mechanical Engineering Program labs, and classroom areas. The 1st floor was renovated to suit the Humber Design Centre with a complete upgrade and renovations to the entire floor to provide new design studios, classroom labs and office area for staff.

J building included approx. 12,000 square feet of classrooms, offices and lab area on the second floor, converted into labs, classrooms and office spaces for the Robotics and Electronic Departments.

L building included approx. 3,000 square foot of sustainable labs.

These renovations were designed to provide a more efficient, up-to-date and modern pool facility. Work included replacement and repairs of the lap pool concrete deck and tank, re-tiling of the lap pool deck, upgrading the dehumidification system, new LED lighting and plumbing improvements.

The new inclusive change space will provide fully private change and/or shower areas for all, removing the need to have designated men’s or women’s change rooms. The new change room includes accessible stalls with roll-in private showers and adult change tables. Common areas include shared amenities such as lockers, rinse stations, sinks, mirrors, hand dryers and bathing suit spinners.

Lakeview Wine Co. (formerly Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits Ltd.)markets Niagara wine to liquor boards, grocery stores and licensed establishments throughout Canada in addition to export markets such as China, Korea and Japan. The business is located in the heart of Canada’s premier viticulture district, the Niagara Peninsula.

Work was completed during the winter months in order to be ready for occupancy during the busy season. Construction included complete site development including new site services, hardscaping, a granular parking lot and landscape improvements.

Specialty construction materials included sound masking, wall & ceiling graphics, granite counters, skylights, wood pivoting doors, glass mosaic & cork tiling, polished concrete flooring and tongue & groove cedar siding.

This new 3,000 sq. ft. modern state-of-the-art facility has become a popular destination for customers to learn and share knowledge, expertise and love of wine in an inviting place.

This project included an extensive phased renovation and addition to bring this existing car dealership up to new Hyundai dealership standards. The new 8,600 square foot addition has doubled the showroom’s size, added a 4-bay service drive-thru with new customer lounge, and increase administrative storage space.

The new addition included cast-in-place foundations, steel superstructure, masonry veneer, high end millwork fixtures, aluminum composite panels, glass curtain walls, overhead doors, epoxy flooring, and site work for a new parking lot & car display area.

GEN-PRO has renovated or fit-up in excess of fifty (50) Tim Hortons restaurants throughout Ontario.

We have worked on many challenging projects within hospitals and shopping centers throughout Southwestern Ontario.

The general scope of work includes interior features such as architectural millwork, seating, ceramic floor & wall tile, slat ceilings, washroom renovations, visual graphics. In addition, Mechanical and Electrical connections are required to hook-up owner supplied kitchen equipment. Exterior renovations include repairs or new stone, siding, tile or stucco.

These projects often occur in a compressed schedule to maximize operations.

This project included supply & installation of new chiller and boiler plants, including three electric chillers, two absorption chillers, three cooling towers, two condensing boiler, two non-condensing boilers, complete with piping, venting and controls

Work also included infrastructure for two new 600kWe Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems including piping and controls, as well as a 750kW Emergency Life Safety Generator (NGas) complete with grounding, controls and alarm circuits.

Upgrades were performed to the main power service of Building C including new outdoor transformer, bus duct and switchgear upgrades.

This project was a design/build of a former music store to accommodate approx. 5,700 sq. ft. of retail banking & office space.

Work comprised of complete site redevelopment, including parking lot regrading & repaving, new large exterior wall openings, a new roof, PC350 framing systems, new Mechanical and Electrical systems and high end interior finishes.

Using a palette of birch, quartz, and resin panels cast with botanicals, the millwork in the space is highly custom and unique.  Mosaic tile adds texture and highlights key features such as a media / information wall and the backdrop of the teller stations.  Splashes of lime green on the walls and in the fabric of an oversized banquette bring life and vibrancy to the space, as do the bold geometric wall decals.

On the exterior, the front façade received sleek aluminum panels and a ramp for barrier free accessibility. Elsewhere, multiple layers of paint were removed to reveal the original red brick cladding.

This project included the transformation of the room in which council meetings are held at Oakville Town Hall.

The 2,860 sq. ft. renovation included a technology-rich design that fostered a multi-use format. Work included the manufacture and installation of new high-end curved architectural woodwork, new acoustic ceiling and wall panels, accessibility upgrades, refinishing of existing benches and new mechanical and electrical upgrades to suit modern times technology.

The acoustics, audio/video and electrical components were highly integrated, giving the team control over the light levels and dynamics of the space.

This project included the removal of bubble dome skylights and replacement with a new sloped roof transom skylight. The new skylight brings indirect light into the library from the northwest, northeast and south east. The additional height allows for the future growth of the trees and plants within the library space below.

GEN-PRO also completed structural upgrades to the existing C-Wing mechanical penthouse. The upgrades included removal of existing concrete block walls and installation of cold-formed steel walls complete with new insulated metal panels and a standing seam metal roof.

This project included site upgrades, interior renovations of the existing school to provide barrier free accessibility & washrooms and construction of a 2,500 sq. ft. two-classroom addition. One classroom was specifically designed as a kindergarten classroom with cubbies and a designated washroom. Special attention was paid to the selection of finishes in the school to ensure that students experience a colorful environment that encourages learning.

Phase 1 of this project included approx. 33,700 sq. ft of flat roof replacement c/w new tapered insulation, new roof drains, new parapet blocking, asbestos abatement, metal siding replacement and ladder modifications at the W.F. Mitchell Athletic Centre. Phase 1 was completed over the winter months while the building remained occupied.

After the project started, the client and consultant added a significant amount of additional work to our contract (phase 2), which included replacement of the 13,000 sq. ft. metal roof assembly over the gold pool. This change to the contract also incorporated painting the steel structure and acoustic panels over the pool, painting walls and installation of new glass guardrails.

An Engineered scaffold platform was installed over the pool for protection and to allow access equipment to be used for painting. In addition, several stair towers were installed to access various roof heights across the building.

This project consisted of an approx. 11,000 sq. ft. 2-storey renovation of an existing salon + spa for the Humber Art Academy.

Humber Art Commons is a live lab that provides students with a creative space to explore and discover new techniques. Located at Lakeshore Campus, this building acts as a hub for art students to learn in as well as providing gallery space to showcase work.

The open concept allows for a modern studio space flooded by natural light. The space has been modelled on the general concept of transformability. Four individual spaces can be turned into any kind of collaborative space depending on need.

This project included complete interior demolition, new Mechanical systems, new Electrical systems incl. A/V, Communications & Security, a new elevator founded on micropiles, structural reinforcement, new acoustic panels, and high end floor + wall finishes to compliment studio, laboratory and classroom space.

Work was substantially complete within 4 months with a very aggressive construction schedule.

This project included an addition to the South Entrance as well as renovations to the interior of the Student Centre at McMaster University.

The West wing of the student centre exterior glass wall was moved deeper into Mills Plaza and the doors relocated to create a more usable space near the Starbucks, referred to as the “south expansion”.

The interior renovation included updates to the café seating area as well as the installation of an additional interior staircase at the east entrance location.

GEN-PRO was awarded this project after receiving the highest ranked evaluation upon submitting a Request for Proposal (RFP) package to Humber College.

Work included interior demolition and asbestos abatement of an existing 2 floor, 20,000 sq. ft. building to accommodate Humber College's new hub for the Department of Education Training & Solutions.

The 1st floor space was fit-up to include a new reception area, multiple offices, 4 open working areas, a kitchen, 2 meeting rooms, change rooms complete with lockers, and a state-of-the-art testing center complete with 5 testing rooms.

The 2nd Floor was renovated to include 6 teaching classrooms, multiple open working areas and forums for the students to study, upgraded washroom facilities and 3 additional offices for staff.

Structural upgrades were required to accommodate the new elevator and elevator penthouse that was installed at the entrance of the 1st floor.

Exterior building improvements included masonry repointing, restoration of lintels, repainting of the stucco, new metal soffits and new metal siding on the new elevator penthouse.

GEN-PRO was contracted to carry out all the demolition and site development work to facilitate the installation of a new 2,750 sq. ft. pre-engineered fabric storage facility for the University of Guelph. An existing steel-clad storage building was demolished prior to construction of the new building

GEN-PRO was responsible to provide/coordinate the Electrical and Mechanical systems that were designed to make the building operational. We were also responsible to manage changes from the client during construction due to zoning regulations

This project included a complete site redevelopment including demolition of the existing one-storey maintenance building to construct a new Roads and Parks Maintenance Facility for the City of Burlington.

Major components of the new building included cast-in-place concrete foundations and floors, double-wythe masonry walls, new sloped roofing, aluminum windows and overhead doors. The project also included a new asphalt parking area, concrete walkways and a playground area.

Established in 1970, Apeldoorn Park (previously named Elgin Park) was renamed in recognition of the official twinning with Apeldoorn, in the Netherlands The park has been redesigned to include a garden feature in the south-west side of the park and a raised garden planter that incorporates plant species and colours reflective of the Netherlands. A feature walkway and seating and junior playground with swing are also included in the park setting.

Formerly a transportation truck sales yard, this project involved complete site development including remediation of contaminated soil, site servicing, site grading, hardscaping & soft landscaping. 

New work consisted of constructing a 5,000 sq. ft. 2-storey cold-formed steel framed building to serve as the new home for GEN-PRO.

GEN-PRO highlighted our commitment to sustainability by utilizing ‘green’ products, such as LED lighting, fiber cement siding, thin stone veneer, sprayed insulation, energy efficient in-floor heating, standing seam metal roofing, ERV units and a rainwater runoff control system.

The property also houses a small maintenance shop that GEN-PRO renovated and built an addition to match the larger building.

This project was a renovation of approximately 2,800 sq. ft for the Humber Golf Management program. Work included installation of equipment for three golf simulators as well as provisions for a pro shop and office space.

Specialty items included structural steel for new privacy curtains, a new oval drywall bulkhead, wall padding, projector screens, 70” televisions, metal cabinets, slat walls and a golf bag locker system.

Completion of a full interior retrofit of an existing home purchased by McMaster, to house the published works of famed British Philosopher Bertrand Russell.

Work included a complete gut of the exiting property with asbestos remediation of all existing plaster walls and ceilings. New wood framing and spray foam insulation was installed and finished with new drywall surfaces. Floor finishes included new carpet, VCT and tile was installed as well as restoration of the existing hardwood floor.

Exterior improvements included all new aluminum clad wood vented windows throughout the building, new asphalt shingles, new exterior concrete walkways & railings.

New Mechanical & Electrical systems were provided, which included the new HVAC system being brought to the basement in 6 parts and assembled on site due to tight space constraints. A new Vortex sprinkler system was installed in the basement with sprinkler heads throughout the first and second floors.

This project included the installation of a new artificial turf field at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville.
